Commonwealth Libraries in a Global Context

The professional community of libraries in CIS countries was presented with the final report of the results of the discussion of the document, "IFLA Trends Report2022.”On April 20, 2023, one hundred librarians from the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States discussed this document inMoscowas part of the VIth International Forum, “Shaping the Future of Libraries.” The report is part of IFLA's global discussion about a professional agenda to improve the delivery of library services, access to information and cultural heritage resources, promote the professional development of library professionals, and international cooperation with the exchange of professional experience.

Thirty-percent of the participants in the discussion were young specialists (under 35 years of age) - participants in the international forum, “Library Dialogue of the CIS Countries," from the national and regional libraries ofRussia,Azerbaijan,Armenia,Belarus,Kazakhstan,Kyrgyzstan,TajikistanandUzbekistan.

During the VIth international forum, “Shaping the Future of Libraries”, the content of strategic documents for the development of the library industry at the national, Eurasian, and international levels was discussed.
