“The Role of Libraries in Strengthening Inter-Religious and Inter-Ethnic Harmony”

On May 22, 2024, in Kazan, at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan, a round table, “The Role of Libraries in Strengthening Inter-Religious and Inter-Ethnic Harmony,” will be held. It will be a special event organized by the Library of Foreign Literature, together with the Section for International Cooperation of the RBA, and the Division of  “Library Services for Multicultural Populations” RBA, in the framework of the all-Russian Library of Congress: XXVIII Annual Conference of the RBA.

It is the first time the program of the RBA Congress includes a scientific and practical meeting that contains such a significant aspect of intercultural communications. The issues of the Round Table are in tune with the theme of this year’s conference, “The Library in a Multi-Cultural World.” There will be an exchange of ideas and best practices of library institutions to develop cooperation between traditional religions, to strengthen inter-ethnic unity, as well as to popularize Russian spiritual culture at the national and international levels.

We invite library managers and specialists to take part in the Round Table with their reports and to contribute to the development of jointly-coordinated approaches to the stated topic.

To participate, one must mark, “Round Table: The Role of Libraries in Strengthening Inter-Religious and Inter-Ethnic Harmony,” and indicate participation as a speaker (with the topic of the report) or listener. Registration for participation in the Congress with reports will be open until March 11.
