Assessing the Effectiveness of Libraries

In context of the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Librarianship in Russia, through 2030, it is important for libraries to make an assessment of the effectiveness of various areas of activity and study and to monitor the compliance of working results with the needs of society.

This was discussed at the IXth all-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference, held on November 14, 2023, in St. Petersburg, at the Central City Public Library, named after. V.V. Mayakovsky. The conference, “Quality Management in Libraries,” was organized with the support of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg and the informational support of the RBA.

The conference participants (729 specialists, 115 offline, 614 online) discussed issues regarding organizing library activities, assessment and tools for improving work efficiency, personnel strategies, motivation and professional growth of staff, the quality of library statistics and monitoring data provided.

A collection of conference materials has been published on the library website and an online broadcast of the meetings is available.
