International Project, "The Great Ethnographic Exam"

“The Great Ethnographic Exam,” is an educational project that introduces the culture of the peoples living in Russia, and also allows one to assess their general level of ethnocultural literacy.

The idea for this project was born in Udmurtia. Local enthusiasts were inspired by, “The Great Exam of the Russian Language,” to conduct a "quiz" of knowledge in ethnography.  The project began in Russia, in 2016.

In 2021, the project was timed to coincide with National Unity Day and will be held from November 3rd-7th, 2021, in an online format on the official website of the project: miretno.ru. To participate in the project, you need to register on the website and click on the, "Pass the Exam," button.

The results of the project will be announced on Constitution Day of the Russian Federation, on December 12, 2021.

The format is a test of thirty questions, twenty of them are the same for everyone, and ten reveal the characteristics of each region.  The writing time allowed is forty-five minutes.  Participants can score a maximum of one hundred points.  After writing, participants will find out their score with an analysis of their answers and receive an electronic certificate.

We invite all residents of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as library staff, to take part in the ethnographic exam.
