Kinoleto: A Project for Schoolchildren

 The Ministry of Culture ofRussia, together with the Ministry of Education ofRussia, is holding an all-Russian event, “Kinoleto.”

 The project combines education and entertainment, which is especially true during the summer holidays.  Children will receive basic knowledge about the history of Russian cinema, cinema figures, as well as learn how to analyze and share their impressions of what they see.

 Within the framework of the project children will be able to become participants in weekly summer film screenings and film discussions, with the participation of parents or teachers.  Special video messages for the event were recorded by the cultural, artIstic and sports figures: Vladimir Mashkov, Sergey Zhigunov, Nyusha, Svetlana Khorkina.  In the videos they shared with schoolchildren their impressions of the films of the Golden Fund of Russia and their memories of participating in the filming.

 The films are selected for the program taking into account the interests of children, as well as their age.  It includes twebty-four films, including such famous Soviet films as, “The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors,” “Scarecrow,” as well as contemporary films such as, “Legend No. 17,” and, “Upward Movement.”
