Set a reminder: / Upload to calendar
Products made from jute are becoming increasingly popular among both craftsmen and souvenir enthusiasts. In this workshop, you will learn how to easily create a traditional folk doll using jute weaving techniques. You will also gain knowledge about shaping the doll's body, designing traditional costumes, and understanding the symbolism of folk ornaments. We will explore the meanings behind traditional patterns, such as the use of diamonds as a symbol of fertility, wavy lines as a representation of water, and the significance of red as a symbol of life. Each region of Russia had its own characteristics – you will learn how the archaic ponevny complex of the southern provinces differs from the sarafan ensemble of the central regions, and create a doll in the characteristic traditions of one of the regions. You will take with you not just a toy, but a keeper of the people's memory.
