"Collecting Gifts for Sabantuy" is a traditional Tatar national ritual that is held before Sabantuy, and which everyone looks forward to. As the music plays, people come out of their homes and join in the dance with the performers. It is a testament to the traditions of our grandparents. Sabantuy is a national holiday that is traditionally celebrated in early June. A week in advance, villages and towns begin collecting gifts. Sabantuy is a beloved and widespread folk holiday among the Tatars. The basis of the Sabantuy gift-giving ritual is the collection of gifts. We collect gifts from the villages of Irekta and Staroye Abdulovo with our children.
