February 21 is the International Mother Language Day. It was installed on 17 November 1999 at the 30th General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The language of each people is distinctive and reflects the mentality and traditions of the nation.

International Mother Language Day is an unusual holiday, but very important. The holiday is aimed at protecting languages that are disappearing, as well as raising awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions. In the Staroabdulovskaya rural library, a book exhibition has been designed for this significant date, which presents dictionaries, reference books and other literature to help learn the language.
