On July 7, Russia celebrates the victory of the Russian Navy over the Turkish Navy in the Battle of Chesma (1770).
The naval battle near the fortress of Chesma between the Russian and Turkish fleets was one of the largest battles in the era of sailing. The Battle of Chesma was a true triumph for the Russian Navy and played a significant role in the conclusion of the Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca, which ended the Russo-Turkish War of 1768-1774.
An exhibition dedicated to this day will be organized at the Betkinskaya rural library.
