International Safe Internet Day is celebrated annually worldwide on the second Tuesday of February. This event was originally launched in 2004 as part of the first Secure Internet action Plan as an initiative of the European Union's SafeBorders project, and since 2005 it has been organized by the European network of secure Internet centers Insafe. Each national center conducts awareness campaigns, has its own "hotline" and actively interacts with young people.
