Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is considered to be the most dangerous disaster and the most terrible disease in modern civilization today. Every year, on December 1, World AIDS Day is celebrated, which serves to strengthen united efforts to combat the HIV epidemic, which continues to spread throughout the world. The Semekeevskaya Rural Library has prepared an information hour "The Name of Trouble is AIDS", dedicated to World AIDS Day for high school students, where participants will get acquainted with such concepts as AIDS and HIV. They learn about how HIV infection progresses to AIDS. The AIDS epidemic has long been a young person's epidemic. One-quarter of all HIV infections occur in people under the age of 22, and half of people with HIV are under the age of 25.
