The Day of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, also called Internationalist Day, is a memorable date celebrated in Russia, symbolizing the memory of Soviet servicemen who performed their tasks far from their relatives and homeland. The modern authorities don't really like this day, because in essence the war was lost. Memorial monuments were erected by the forces of the surviving veterans throughout the country. In honor of the event, activists hold rallies and charity events to remind the state of its responsibilities to the soldiers. To introduce children to the history of this terrible war, to review a book exhibition, to watch a presentation about the war and the participation of fellow countrymen in the Afghan war.
