The All-Russian campaign "St. George Ribbon" will begin on April 22, 2026. This annual event, held on Victory Day, aims to preserve the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Library staff will join the campaign by distributing black and orange ribbons, which have become a symbol of military valor and respect for veterans.
Why is this important?
The St. George Ribbon is a symbol of heroism, valor, and the glory of the defenders of the Fatherland.
Each stripe — black as the smoke of war, orange as the flame of victory — reminds us of the thousands of lives lost for the future.
Wearing it close to your heart is a way of saying, "I remember! I am proud!"
Wearing the ribbon with dignity is a promise to preserve the peace that was won at such a high cost.
The campaign will continue until May 9, so don't miss the opportunity to receive your ribbon and pass on the legacy of remembrance!
