November 29 is the Day of Remembrance of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya. Zoya Anatolyevna Kosmodemyanskaya was the first woman to be awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously) during the Great Patriotic War. It is important to remember this woman, who became a symbol of the anti-fascist struggle and the resilience of the Soviet people, who showed an unprecedented will to win and a refusal to surrender or submit to the enemy. Students will learn about Zoya's childhood and youth, as well as the story of her capture by the Germans and the horrific ordeals she endured.
