Dictionary and Encyclopedia Day is celebrated annually on November 22. This date was chosen for a reason. It is the birthday of Vladimir Ivanovich Dal, the creator of the Explanatory Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language. Dictionaries deserve their own holiday, and there is no better date in Russia than Dal's birthday. The Novotroitskaya Library will host a quiz in honor of this date.
