On December 4, the branch library No. 23 will host a Memory Lesson titled «Flowers for the Unknown Soldier».
The Memory Lesson is an opportunity to pay tribute to the immortal heroes whose names remain unknown, yet whose contribution to Victory is invaluable.
We will remember those who gave their lives for the peaceful sky above us, those who went missing on the battlefields, and those whose remains were found decades later and buried with honours — yet never identified.
Participants will learn about the origin of the Day of the Unknown Soldier and the significance of this day in preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War and other military conflicts.
Additionally, excerpts from documentaries will be shown, focusing on search operations, the burial of unknown soldiers, and efforts to identify them.
Poems and excerpts from prose works dedicated to the unknown soldier’s courage and selflessness will also be recited.
