Librarians invite you to a fascinating and meaningful journey into the history of cinema as a cultural phenomenon that arose at the beginning of the 19th century.

Visitors of the event will get acquainted with the main stages of the formation of cinema as an art, learn about the connection of cinema with the development of scientific thought and technology. At the end of the meeting, a master class on creating a phenakistiscope as the first prototype of a hand-drawn animated film will be offered. A phenakistiscope is a laboratory device for demonstrating moving drawings, the design of which is based on the phenomenon of persistence – inertia of human vision.
