March 18 is celebrated as the Day of the Reunification of Crimea with Russia. On this day in 2014, Crimea officially became part of the Russian Federation. The annexation, or rather, the return of these territories to Russia, was formalized by an intergovernmental treaty signed in the Georgievsky Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow by the heads of Russia and the Republic of Crimea. According to the document, the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol were not only accepted into the Russian Federation, but also became its new constituent entities. On March 18, the library will host a book exhibition dedicated to this event. The exhibition will feature literature on the history of Crimea from ancient times to the events of modern times, including the referendum of the people of Crimea on joining the Russian Federation and the signing of the Treaty on the Accession of the Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol to the Russian Federation, as well as historical figures, politicians, and artists whose lives and destinies were connected with the history of Crimea.
