“On a magazine wave”

The main direction of the library is the provision of information services to the population through existing library documents, including through periodicals.
It is very difficult, almost impossible, to imagine all the periodicals. Because the modern press is thousands of publications that vary in subject, purpose, program, frequency, circulation, and region of distribution.
         In the library for the “Give yourself joy” club, a press review of the written periodical library “On the Journal Wave” was held, where the meeting participants received information about the periodicals of the newspaper and magazine type, made a short excursion into the history of the magazine, and took an active part in the quiz about specialists -the creators of the press.
         The practical task brought a note of competition: having divided into two teams, the guests from the proposed group of six words on the topic determined the superfluous: opening day and almanac. The meaning of the first - explained themselves, and the second, for them a new word, the definition was given by the librarian.
         The conversation about the magazines beloved by the club representatives smoothly turned into a review of periodicals presented on the information table. Of particular interest were the magazines Around the World, Lukashenko of Ideas, Winter Cherry, SAM, the newspaper Argumenty i Fakty and Vestnik ZOZh. But the excitement produced "60 years is not age" and "Psychology and I". The first sparked a real debate; recklessly, almost in chorus, they solved the logical problem from the magazine. And the second was intrigued by the fact that it is based on readers' letters, and the article “At 70 on the Podium” inspired me that retirement is not old age yet - a favorite thing and the right way of life is a guarantee to prolong youthfulness of mind and body health.
            The event was lively, in one breath. For home reading, 8 journals were taken. 14 people attended.
