"The Mission of the Public Library in Preserving Historical Memory”

On November 14-15, 2024, the XIIth All-Russian Forum of Public Libraries will be held in person at the Russian National Library, in St. Petersburg, organized jointly with the RLA and with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The main topic of the forum is : "The mission of the public library in preserving historical memory.” 

Topics for discussion: 

  • Implementation of the provisions of the "The Fundamentals of the State Policy of the Russian Federation in the Field of Historical Education";
  • Formation of an all-Russian civic identity based on traditional Russian spiritual, moral, cultural, and historical values;
  • Preservation  of the memory of significant events in Russian history;
  • Popularization of the achievements of Russian science and culture.

Heads and specialists of federal, regional and municipal public libraries, representatives of other cultural and educational institutions, partner organizations of the libraries, and representatives of governmental bodies at all levels are invited to participate in the forum.

To participate with a report, you must register before October 10th, without a report, before October 28th.
