Ivan Andreevich Krylov was born. On February 13, 1769, in the family of an officer, and his childhood years were spent in the Urals and Tver. As a fabulist, Krylov declared himself in 1809, when his first book of fables was published. Krylov's fables are organically intertwined with the world of Russian proverbs and sayings. From them, many winged expressions came into our language, which eventually also turned into proverbs. Krylov's fables have not lost their relevance today. They have been translated into more than 50 foreign languages.
