The Battle of Kursk was one of the largest and most important battles of the Great Patriotic War, which took place from July 5 to August 23, 1943. The German command gave another name to this battle – Operation Citadel, which, according to the plans of the Wehrmacht, was supposed to counterattack the Soviet offensive. In 1983, the feat of Soviet soldiers on the Kursk Bulge was immortalized in Kursk – on May 9, a memorial to those who died during the Great Patriotic War was opened. On May 9, 2000, in honor of the 55th anniversary of the victory in the battle, the Kursk Bulge memorial complex was opened. The Burdinsky Village Library invites you to a thematic evening dedicated to the legendary battle of our ancestors. To know and respect your history is the right and duty of a conscious citizen of your country.
