"International Day of Peace"

Every year in autumn, the international community celebrates the International Day of Peace. This Day was declared by the UN General Assembly as the day of strengthening the ideals of peace among all countries and peoples — both at the national and international levels. In 1981, the General Assembly proclaimed the Day of Peace and established its celebration on the third Tuesday of September, and 20 years later, in 2001, unanimously adopted resolution 55/282, in which it decided that since 2002, the International Day of Peace will be celebrated annually on September 21, as a day of universal ceasefire and non-violence.

An action dedicated to the Day of Peace will be held in the Krugopol Library.
