The library will host the All-Russian memorial event "Blockade Bread", which will be dedicated to the history of the defense and blockade of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War. The action is designed to remind about one of the most heroic and tragic pages of the Great Patriotic War, about the courage and perseverance of the city's residents who survived the unprecedented blockade. The siege of Leningrad lasted 872 days. According to various estimates, between 600,000 and 1.5 million people died — and the vast majority of them died of starvation. The library will join the action. Participants will learn about the blockade bread, receive a symbolic piece of bread and a memo with a description. The symbol of the All—Russian memorial action "Blockade bread" will be a small piece of bread weighing 125 grams — this was the minimum bread distribution rate in Leningrad during the most difficult period of the blockade - in the winter of 1941/1942
