Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol will turn 215 years old on April 1. It is no coincidence that April 1st was made the Day of Laughter. Gogol could laugh, and his laughter was different: cheerful, sad, through tears. He laughed at stupidity, fear, death. He was considered both a comedian and a satirist. The most famous and popular work of the author is the play "The Inspector". According to legend, the plot of the play was suggested to Gogol by Pushkin himself.
