Eduard Nikolaevich Uspensky was born on December 22 (born in 1937) - Soviet and Russian writer, screenwriter, author of children's books. Among the popular characters he invented are Crocodile Gena and Cheburashka, the cat Matroskin, Uncle Fyodor, the postman Pechkin, the dog Sharik and others. Eduard Uspensky is probably the most popular contemporary Russian children's writer. It was he who came up with the famous Cheburashka and the crocodile Gena, the independent boy Uncle Fyodor, his assistants the cat Matroskin and the dog Sharik, as well as the funny postman Pechkin. A literary hour in honor of the writer will be held at the Nizhnesuyksinsky library.
