February 10 - this memorable date is tragic, because on this day in 1837 A. S. Pushkin, the greatest Russian poet, whose name and work are widely known throughout the world, died. He was only 37 years old, and Pushkin died from a fatal wound that he received during a duel with Dantes. News of the duel and the poet's death led to a strong excitement in St. Petersburg. Several thousand people came to say goodbye to Pushkin at his coffin. The poet was buried in the Svyatogorsk Monastery. Loud readings of the poet's poems will be held in the Nizhnesuyksin village library.
