Maslenitsa is the most open and riotous, the most fun and delicious holiday – on this day, people eat pancakes heartily. In traditional life, it has always been believed that a person who spent Shrovetide week badly and boringly will be unsuccessful throughout the year. Unrestrained Shrovetide gluttony and fun was seen as a magical harbinger of future well-being, prosperity and success in all business, household and economic endeavors. So, on February 21, in the "Veteran" club of the Central city library, older readers decided to gather for a literary and musical evening "Maslenitsa is coming, pancakes and honey are coming" to listen to folk songs, dance in the air and treat each other to pancakes.
