"The people called you "The Great""

On April 28, 2021, the library-branch No. 23 for high school students will host the History Hour "The people called you "The Great"", dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the outstanding military and political figure Alexander Nevsky. The purpose of the event is to form students ' feelings of patriotism, citizenship, respect for the past on the example of the historical figure Alexander Nevsky. The life of this historical figure was full of interesting and significant events. During the event, the children will be told about Alexander's childhood, about his upbringing and training in military affairs, about historical events related to him – about the Battle of the Neva, the Ice Battle on Lake Peipus. The section "Alexander Nevsky and the Golden Horde" will reveal his personality as a reasonable politician and diplomat. The event will be accompanied by an electronic presentation, a screening of a fragment of the feature film "Alexander Nevsky", and a reading of an excerpt from the poem "Ice Battle" by K. Simonov. We will also hold a game "Collect a catch phrase" and a quiz "Life and death".
