Ouspensky came up with many popular characters: Cheburashka, crocodile Gena, Uncle Fyodor, dog Sharik, cat Matroskin, postman Pechkin and others. Works with these characters have been translated into 25 languages, and books have been published in millions of copies. The author also worked on scripts for popular cartoons and film adaptations of his stories. During his creative career, the writer has written 75 novels and short stories, 10 plays and scripts for 60 cartoons. Eduard Uspensky is one of the creators of the programs "Good Night, kids!", "Abvgdike", "Baby Monitor", as well as a program about the author's song "Ships came into our harbor", which was awarded the TEFI Award (2000). In 2010, Eduard Uspensky received the Korney Chukovsky Prize "For Outstanding Creative Achievements in Russian children's Literature."
