Robinson Crusoe Day is celebrated on February 1. This date appeared in the calendar thanks to the rescue of the sailor Alexander Selkirk. After a quarrel with the captain, he was landed on an uninhabited island of the Juan Fernandez archipelago in the Pacific Ocean, where he spent 5 years. Suffering from loneliness, Selkirk got used to the island, and in order not to forget the English language, he read the Bible aloud.
Robinson Crusoe is an example of the moral rebirth of a man who initially thought only about himself and profit, but when faced with difficulties, learns to overcome them and considers his value system, striving for inner harmony.
