As part of the spring All-Russian Library Run "Running Book - 2026 https://бегущаякнига.рф/" employees of the Central City Library run towards readers and turn everyone, young and old, into book lovers.
May 26, on the eve of the All-Russian Day of Libraries, we invite residents of our city to participate in the annual Spring Intellectual Race "RUNNING BOOK"!
2026 marks the 10th anniversary of this large-scale socio-cultural action, aimed at attracting new readers to libraries, stimulating interest in reading and intellectual development, and also designed to contribute to maintaining the image of Russia as "the most reading country."
The "Running Book" already unites over 3,500 library institutions of various profiles in 82 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. And over the past years, over 650,000 librarians, volunteers and book lovers have visited its intellectual routes in more than 300 large and small cities and 1,000 rural settlements!

The current Spring Race is timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. During the May marathon, "book runners" will test the knowledge of compatriots about the nationalities and ethnic groups inhabiting the vast expanses of our fatherland, the wealth and originality of their language and culture, as well as about the outstanding representatives of these peoples who have made a significant contribution to the development of the country.
May 26, at 12 o'clock, librarians start from the library building.

Not only initiative volunteers, but also ordinary readers, along with their family and friends, can join the librarians participating in the action as volunteer assistants.
