The beginning of December is traditionally celebrated as a Decade of disabled people. It is timed to coincide with the international day of persons with disabilities, which has been celebrated since 1992 by the United Nations on 3 December. The decade of disabled people is held to draw public attention to the problems of people with disabilities. This day is another reminder to society about the need for constant attention to people with disabilities and improvement of policies aimed at their social protection.
