"White Cranes"

October 22 is the holiday of the White Cranes. This memorable day is known not only throughout Russia and in the CIS countries, but also far beyond their borders. The great holiday is dedicated to the memory of the soldiers who died on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War and who were buried in mass graves. Such a poetic name appeared due to the poem of the same name by R. Gamzatov. It was he who became the founder of this mournful day. The impetus for writing a poem was a sad event that occurred in Japan, which the poet visited. In August 1945, an atomic bomb struck Hiroshima. So, one little girl, who was only 8 years old, named Sadako Sasaki, became a victim of radiation sickness. According to Japanese tradition, if a sick person makes a thousand origami cranes, a tsur, he will recover. Sadako tried with all her might to make a thousand paper cranes, but she managed only 644. This story struck the poet to the depths of her soul, and he wrote the poem “White Cranes”.

White cranes, made by the hands of pupils of d / kindergarten No. 33, arrived today, October 23, to the residents of the city, as a reminder. Librarians f.№37 presented books about cranes and held an action "Day of White Cranes" on the street of Youth.
