"Master of the historical novel"

In October 2019, the 125th anniversary of the birth of Yuri Nikolaevich Tynyanov is celebrated. For the anniversary of the writer, a thematic shelf from the cycle “Book on the Screen” was designed in the library
The talent of Yuri Tynyanov was unique - specializing in the Pushkin era as a literary critic, he was also also a screenwriter, and theorist of cinema, and the historical genre in literature.
Historical novels presented at the exhibition and introduce real people who played a big role in the history and literature of Russia: Tynyanov’s first novel “Kyuhlya” (1925) - about a companion and friend of A.S. Pushkina V.K. Kuchelbecker is significant and about one of the most important movements in the history of Russia - Decembrism.
The novel “The Death of Wazir-Mukhtar” (1927-1928) is dedicated to A.S. Griboedov. Before the reader - not a classic who deserved the eternal gratitude of posterity, but a friend of the Decembrists, the author of the banned comedy, who never saw it either in print or on stage. Among the historical stories and stories of Tynianov is “Second Lieutenant Kizhe” (1928). This work was filmed.
For visitors to the library, discussions were held about the life and work of the writer, about the screen versions of his books. Readers made a short excursion into history - the Decembrist uprising, read fragments of poems from the novel "Kyuhlya".
