In 2021, the 800th anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky (1221-1263) will be celebrated. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree "On the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Nevsky". The decree was adopted "in order to preserve the military-historical and cultural heritage, strengthen the unity of the Russian people." In honor of this event, the staff of the children's and youth department of the Central City Library of the MBU " CBS "organized a book exhibition" The Great Commander of the Russian Land " about the life and military exploits of Alexander Nevsky. The exhibition will run from February 8 until the end of 2021.
The first section of the exhibition covers the biography of Prince Alexander Nevsky. Represented by the publication of a universal character: L. Bolobolova the "Grand Dukes", and A. V. shimova "one Hundred great generals." And publication devoted to the biography of the Prince, O. Tikhomirov Alexander Nevsky, suds "Rocaberti".
The second section contains books, reference literature about the Battle of the Neva and periodicals. For example, in the book by N. P. Pavlishcheva " Alexander. The Battle of the Neva", tells about the battle itself, about the formation of a great commander. A. Degtyarev's book "The Battle of the Neva" tells not only about the great battle, but also tells about the life of ancient Novgorod.
The image of Alexander Nevsky has long been reflected in fiction, fine art, cinema, and sculpture.
In 1724, the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky was established by order of Catherine I, and in the USSR in 1942, the Order of Alexander Nevsky was established, which was awarded for merits in military operations.
